The Auburn PFF Countdown rolls into the top dozen, and the talent only gets more impressive. From dynamic defenders to a rising star at center, this group is key to Auburn’s success in 2025. Let’s get into No. 12-9 on the countdown.
# 12 – Amaris Williams, EDGE (Sophomore)

Amaris Williams enters his sophomore season with upside as a rotational edge rusher. He posted a 71.8 overall PFF grade across just 119 snaps last season. With a solid 69.5 run defense grade and strong tackling (78.3), Williams showed reliability, but Auburn will need him to generate more pressure (just 5 total pressures in 2024). As the Tigers face more outside zone-heavy offenses like Missouri, his edge discipline will be critical.
#11 – Jeremiah Cobb, RB (Junior)

Cobb’s role should expand greatly in 2025. Despite only 82 snaps last year, he notched a 73.3 PFF grade and an impressive 80.2 fumble grade—meaning he protects the football well. What separates Cobb is his home-run potential: Auburn fans should expect Freeze to use him as a space threat, especially in the passing game (62.0 receiving grade). While his pass blocking is a work in progress, Cobb could be Auburn’s most explosive back.
#10 – Connor Lew, C (Junior)

A fixture in Auburn’s offensive line, Connor Lew continues to climb toward All-SEC territory. He played 748 snaps last year with a 75.5 PFF grade and an elite 79.9 pass blocking mark. With only three penalties and growing leadership responsibilities, Lew is not just a physical anchor—he’s becoming a mental one too. His chemistry with new QB Jackson Arnold will be vital in protection and pre-snap checks.
#9 – Raion Strader, CB (Transfer from Miami – OH)

The Miami (OH) transfer brings lockdown potential to the cornerback room. Schrader played 756 snaps last season, earning a 75.9 overall grade with a standout 77.0 in coverage. Though his tackling (46.0) raises some concerns—especially against better competition—his ball skills (2 INTs, 13 PBUs) and size (6’0″, 183 lbs) make him a strong candidate to earn a starting outside spot in a deep DB group.
We’re almost inside the elite eight. Stay tuned for more of the best from the Plains.
