Dillon Wade returns for his final season on The Plains with eyes on solidifying Auburn’s interior offensive line. After transferring from Tulsa, Wade showcased his versatility in 2024, logging 751 snaps with a 67.1 overall PFF grade. Known for his prowess as a run blocker (70.7), Wade’s ability to play both guard and tackle gives Auburn much-needed flexibility.

Though Wade had to step in at left tackle last season due to injuries, his size projects best as a guard in the SEC. With added depth at tackle this year, Wade will focus on bolstering the interior line, where his experience will be vital. As he looks to impress NFL scouts, a full season at guard could help Wade prove his draft-worthiness.

#23 – Malik Blocton, DL (Sophomore)

Sophomore defensive tackle Malik Blockton is a rising force on Auburn’s defensive front. In his true freshman campaign, Blockton played 305 snaps, earning a 67.4 overall grade and recording three sacks with a total of seven pressures.

His ability to disrupt from the interior pairs well with edge rusher Keldrick Falk, giving Auburn’s defensive line a more dynamic look. The area of improvement for Blockton lies in his tackling efficiency (52.6). However, with another year of development and more opportunities, Blockton is poised to take a leap in production.

#22 – Robert Woodyard, LB (Junior)

Robert Woodyard is ready for an expanded role in 2025. After logging only 118 snaps last season, Woodyard graded out at 67.4 overall, showing flashes of his potential. Known for his sideline-to-sideline speed, Woodyard is expected to be a key rotational piece at linebacker.

With Auburn needing stability in the middle, Woodyard’s athleticism and improved tackling (64.6 grade) make him a strong candidate to see significant playing time alongside star linebacker DeMarcus Riddick.

#21 – Caleb Wheatland, LB (Transfer from Maryland)

Auburn’s PFF Countdown: No. 24-21

Maryland transfer Caleb Wheatland comes in at No. 21. Wheatland brings valuable experience with 466 snaps last season but must improve his tackling (36.0) and run defense (55.3) to thrive in the SEC.

Where Wheatland excels is in coverage (64.4) and pass-rushing situations (72.2 pressure grade). He projects as a third-down specialist who can cover backs and tight ends or rush mobile quarterbacks. His role will be crucial as Auburn aims to shore up its third-down defense.
