After 5 years on staff at his Alma Mater, Assistant Coach Wes Flanigan is headed to join Chris Beard at Ole Miss.
As first reported by Auburn Live, Auburn Basketball will be in search of a new assistant coach to fill out the staff. Wes Flanigan had been a part of some historic runs for Auburn, as a coach. He is also a prolific recruiter.
The departure of Wes could also have a ripple effect on his son, Allen. Will his dad leaving the staff mean that Allen, too, will decide to exit the Plains? It could also have an impact on the 2024 recruiting class, as Wes is heavily involved with the recruitment of LaBarron Philon. So, where does Coach Bruce Pearl go to find his replacement?
Many Auburn fans are hoping that Coach Pearl brings back another former Auburn player to be on his staff. KT Harrell, after being on staff for his team’s historic run, is a popular choice amongst the fanbase to replace Flanigan. Whatever the outcome, Auburn Basketball has a lot to sort out during this off-season.
