Auburn Football’s second worst offensive performance in a win over the last 20 years has fans either scratching or shaking their heads.
Nobody was sure how the Auburn Football team would look after their home blowout loss to Penn St. Calls for Bryan Harsin’s job were matched by cries of hope that the loss would be a wakeup call for the team. Neither side got quite what they were looking for this past Saturday.
Instead of the meltdown and abject failure that some were hoping for, they saw an Auburn team grit and fight their way to a statistically unlikely win over Mizzou. But offense was basically nonexistent after the 1st quarter, needing the Auburn defense – and Mizzou offense – to make some game-changing plays in Auburn’s favor to pull out the win.
I think Bryan Harsin just needs to take over play-calling duties. Plain and simple. Bryan Harsin needs to call plays.

Things aren’t likely to get better soon with another critical injury to the offsensive line with C Tate Johnson going out for the rest of the season with an elbow injury. It seems that if the offense is to be redeemed, it will be entirely on the coaching staff to find the right mix of players, play-calling, and scheme adjustments to get Auburn points. But they can do it? Will they swap pieces on the O-line? Will they overhaul offensive personnel? Is the job too big for OC Eric Kiesau?
