Holden Geriner is Making Waves in the QB Race

“I did not want to see Holden Geriner fall to third on this depth chart this spring.”

Coach Hugh Freeze was complimentary of the progress his Quarterbacks made this past week. He singled out the improvement from Holden Geriner. It seems that Holden Geriner is making waves in the QB race.

Just a few days after turning heads with his arm talent at Auburn’s Pro Day, Holden Geriner had his best practice of the Spring. He was able to get some reps that had Head Coach Hugh Freeze complimenting the redshirt freshman QB in his most recent press conference.

The QB room is always one that will have the highest level of scrutiny and the most eyes on it. Geriner has been a guy that Auburn fans have been hoping would take the reins due to the mixed results of incumbents TJ Finley and Robby Ashford. The arm talent is clear but the results haven’t been impressive thus far.

I did not want to see Holden Geriner fall to third on this depth chart this spring.

– Mike G on The Morning Drop

It seems that Holden will be given a chance to prove that he belongs in the conversation. The jury is still out as to whether or not he can truly shake things up in this race. But so far, Coach Freeze has been true to his word: This seems to be an open competition and everyone is getting their shot. It’s time for someone to step up and take the job. Will Holden Geriner be the one?
