Auburn Star Forward suffers a knee injury during the Kentucky game
Early in the 2nd half in Auburn’s home lost to Kentucky, star forward, Jaylin Williams went up for a dunk attempt. When he came to the floor, he landed awkwardly. It did not look good initially and he was slow to get up. Eventually, he was able to leave the court but not without assistance.
Jaylin has been a key piece to Auburn’s team this season. The Grad Senior has been the 2nd leading scorer for Auburn and a barometer for the team. When Jaylin plays well, Auburn plays well. His injury, all but, sank Auburn’s comeback attempts against the Wildcats Saturday night.
The situation did not look good and the collective Tiger Fan base held its breath. Saturday Morning, Williams took to social media to give the signal to the fans to exhale.
Auburn released a statement early Sunday morning confirming that, “Graduate senior forward Jaylin Williams was evaluated this morning and has a non-season ending knee injury.” The exact time table for his return has not been stated yet, but I would expect it to be a few weeks before the Tigers have their starting forward return. The question will be, “How effective will he be after the injury and can Auburn continue to have success in his absence?”
