Steven Willis from PositivelyOleMiss.com stops by to give us the scoop on what to expect from this weekend’s matchup between Auburn and Ole Miss.
The Auburn Football team heads to Oxford to take on Ole Miss in its second straight road game after 5 straight home matchups to open the season. Auburn has had firm control of the series over the past 20 years, with Ole Miss winning only in years where Auburn was, well…not a good football team.
It doesn’t bode well, then, that Auburn is 3-3 on the season, including 1-3 against Power 5 competition with a -15.5 scoring differential in those matchups. Ole Miss comes in 6-0 and looking incredibly competent on defense to complement what is mostly a power running game.
If power run is what’s gonna move the ball against Ole Miss (…) we’re the least equipped to perform an efficient power run game of anybody in the conference.

We’ve seen Auburn change its offensive philosophy to fit Robby Ashford’s skill set as the starter when TJ Finley went down with injury. Unfortunately, those changes also came along with inexperience, offensive line injuries, and countless mistakes from newer personnel. What should we be expecting this weekend? Can Auburn put together a game plan to put up enough points to hang around? Can the Auburn defense force the Ole Miss offense into some mistakes?
