The new look SEC dropped their 2024 Football Opponents
The addition of Texas and Oklahoma has been highly anticipated. The SEC announced recently that the 2024 season would include 8 Conference games (which I thought would be the best option). These additions have caused a massive scheduling change in the conference. Rivalries were lost and new opponents appeared. So what does it all look like for Auburn Football?
The official SEC opponents for Auburn in 2024 are as follows:
I love the matchup of Auburn and Oklahoma

Auburn will host, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas. This will mark the first time that the Sooners will be in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Additionally, it will be the first matchup between Auburn and Oklahoma in football for a non-bowl game. Conversely, the Tigers will travel to Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and Missouri. That’s an easy 3 win minimum for the Tigers in a highly anticipated season.
Unfortunately, the Auburn/LSU rivalry was lost in the shuffle. While it is disappointing to lose a historic rivalry, it gives a bit of relief for Auburn because the strength of schedule should not be as high. Auburn is routinely in the top 20 in the nation in Strength of Schedule. If LSU is on that list, it would easily be one of the hardest schedule in the entire country.
Also of note, Auburn will not play either of the Mississippi schools. The growing rivalry between Auburn and Ole Miss will have to skip a season. In addition, this means, no Cow Bells. I am not upset about that part. It is the dawn of a new day in the Southeastern Conference. We will see what that future holds.
