Derick Hall is the first defensive player to get the nod this season, so far. Hall has been relentless for the Auburn on defense so far this season. This game, he was in the backfield like he played RB for Missouri. He ended the game with 6 total tackles, 3 of them being tackles for loss and 2 of those being sacks, and an interception.
The interception by Hall was the first turnover the Tigers defense was able to force this season. It came on the second drive by Missouri off of a tipped pass. It was great coverage on the slant by Nehemiah Pritchett and Hall was in the right place at the right time to capitalize on the deflection.
Derick Hall continued his stellar play in the 3rd quarter. He was initially stopped on his pass rush but does not give up on the play. As Brady Cook attempts to step up into the pocket, Hall gives pursuit. Then, as Cook sees him coming and trying to spin away, Derick was able to take him down for the sack.
The Missouri quarterback was not the only offensive player to feel the wrath of Derick Hall this Saturday. He was a menace against the run as well. On this play, Hall sheds his blocker with ease and gets up field for the tackle for loss to get Missouri behind the chains early in this crucial drive, late in the game.
