Auburn football in the NFL Draft

How did Auburn fair in the 2023 NFL draft?

After a tumultuous 5-7 season Auburn had 5 players selected in the NFL draft.

This years draft was one of the most intriguing in recent memory. It started from Owen Pappoe posting an unreal 4.3 forty time. Derick Hall also had a solid combine which led to many expecting him to be selected in the first round.

When the dust settled, Derick Hall, Tank Bigsby, Colby Wooden, Owen Pappoe, and Anders Carlson were selected. Hall slid slightly outside the first round but still on par with many analysts expectations. The real surprise was Anders Carlson, Kickers are rarely selected and with the below average season he had it was truly a flyer for the Packers to pick him.

Eku Leota was projected to be the 5th Tiger off the board rather than Anders. Although his injury this year is cause for concern. However, those who watched him saw his ability to collapse the pocket and allow the interior lineman to create havoc. The Panthers understood this and picked him up not long after the draft. In total, 10 Tigers will get a chance to make NFL Rosters (OL Brandon Council/ New York Jets
WR Shedrick Jackson/ Cincinnati Bengals,TE John Samuel Shenker/ Las Vegas Raiders, and OL Kilian Zierer/ Houston Texans
) signed Undrafted Free Agent deals, and all of these players can impact the game at a high level.
