We’re down to the final stretch of Auburn’s PFF Countdown, and today we’re revealing players No. 8 through No. 5. These Tigers might not be at the very top of the list, but make no mistake—they’ll be critical pieces in 2025.
#8 – Jay Crawford, CB (Sophomore)
Jay Crawford emerged late last season and quickly proved he could hold his own as a freshman. Grading 77.5 in coverage across 503 snaps, Crawford was sticky in man and disciplined with only three penalties all year. His tackling needs improvement, but he’s shown he can erase receivers on the edge. Auburn’s staff trusts him to be a full-time starter, and his play against spread attacks like Baylor’s will be crucial early.
#7 – Chris Murray, Buck (Transfer – Sam Houston)
Murray joins Auburn from Sam Houston, where he graded 76.8 overall. His bull rush was effective in the FCS, but now he’ll need to develop more moves to succeed in the SEC. Expect Murray to shine in sub-packages, especially on passing downs when Auburn needs fresh legs to pressure the quarterback.
#6 – Kaleb Harris, S ( Sophomore)
Consistency defines Harris. The sophomore safety logged 608 snaps last season with just four missed tackles. His 85.3 tackling grade shows he can wrap up in space and keep plays from turning into big gains. Harris may not grab headlines, but his reliability makes Auburn’s defense stronger every snap he’s on the field.
#5 – Durell Robinson, RB (Transfer – UConn)
Robinson adds toughness to Auburn’s running back room. At UConn, he earned an 84.7 rushing grade and an 80.1 pass-blocking grade, showing he can grind yards and protect the quarterback. While he isn’t a breakaway threat, Robinson excels in short-yardage and goal-line situations. With Damari Alston and Jeremiah Cobb already in place, Auburn now has a balanced three-headed attack.
