After committing earlier this year and Wes being a primary recruiter for him, Labarron Philon has informed the Auburn staff that he is decommitting and reopening his recruitment.
It may be too early to hit the panic button, but the hands are hovering over it. After the 2nd big decommitment of this 2024 Class, it seems like Auburn Basketball’s 2024 Class is in danger.
The recent news of Wes Flanigan leaving for Oxford was the handwriting on the wall for the shake up that was coming. After committing earlier this year and Wes being a primary recruiter for him, Labarron Philon has informed the Auburn staff that he is decommitting and reopening his recruitment. Additionally, Jaylin Williams has decided to declare for the draft. However, he, like Broome, has kept his option to return open.
Bruce is one good season away from turning that good guard situation into a deep run and being the king on the block again.

This comes as another blow to the 2024 Recruiting Class for Auburn, as Philon is the 2nd Decommitment from the class. A class that looked promising and could close in the Top 10, is now reeling. How can Coach Pearl and staff recover and make sure the Tigers stay loaded? The fortunes of this team’s future rely on a good showing this coming season.
Regardless of what happens next, Coach Pearl has his hands full just to keep the 2023 Roster competitive. With the status of key pieces like Johni Broome and Jaylin Williams in flux right now, they have to solidify the Front Court. Also, there has been no word on what Allen Flanigan plans to do for next season. This will be a situation to keep a close eye on.
