The Definitive Auburn vs Georgia Preview

Auburn hits the road to test its mettle against a rival that has dominated them for the better part of the last 20 years.

Paul Maharry from UGASports.com joins The War Rapport to gloat about his team’s national championship and preview the 2022 installment of The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.

Auburn’s offense played just well enough in their loss to LSU to get some of the fanbase excited about the remainder of what seemed like a bleak season coming out of September. Increased offensive output combined with an awakened Auburn defense puts Auburn squarely in the thick of a pack of underwhelming SEC West teams, including Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Miss St.

Georgia hasn’t been considered a winnable game by most of the Auburn faithful, but Georgia’s recent struggles are giving the most positive portion of the fanbase some glimmer of hope. Georgia isn’t as indestructible as they were believed to be when the demolished Oregon at the beginning of the season. They’ve got issues, and the right team could take advantage of them

Georgia will rotate their defensive linemen if given a chance. (…) You’ve got to be able to move the ball and keep those 3 guys on ’cause they’re so used to coming off after every 2-3 plays. If you keep them on there for 4 or 5, that’s where you can really gash Georgia. (…) If you’re able to just keep that ball moving, that’s where you can get Georgia in a vulnerable spot.

Georgia beat writer and all around fun guy Paul Maharry gives us some insight to what ails the bulldogs and whether or not he thinks Auburn can be the team to take advantage of it. Is Georgia worried about Robby Ashford and a new-look Auburn offense? Can Auburn’s defense continue its improvement against a troubled Georgia offense?
