Auburn came out victorious against the Bulldogs late Saturday night
Payton Thorne took over the QB1 role with his performance last night. Over 100 yards on the ground and nearly 300 yards through the air, he orchestrated the offense in every aspect. A great sign heading into SEC play.
Auburn doesn’t have an identity offensively

The offense looked complete for the first time this season, Thorne ran the option beautifully and put to rest the questions about his ability. He had two interceptions go against him. One hit Shane Hooks’ hands in the end zone and bounced into the opponents hands. The other one was a bad decision, throwing to Koy Moore in double coverage. Jarquez Hunter was banged up and played below his standards, Damari Alston and Jeremiah Cobb answered in his absence.
The defense had another strong performance, even without the star STAR, Donovan Kaufman. Caleb Wooden and Kayin Lee were more than serviceable in their roles. Veterans D.J James and Jaylin Simpson balled out in the secondary, and Eugene Asante led the front 7 to another dominate performance.
With that in mind, here are my grades for the week,
