McAllister Makes a Great First Impression

Is Hugh Freeze establishing a championship culture?

Auburn has their time at SEC Media Days. Elijah McAllister makes a great first impression.

Former Vanderbilt edge, Elijah McAllister was selected players to attend SEC media days representing Auburn Football. His presence is one of the strongest in the locker room. This young man carries himself extremely well, and Auburn is reaping the benefits.

What I got out of Elijah McAllister at media days was that, Hugh Freeze is fixing the culture very quickly

Culture is a massive indicator of how far a program can go. Take the Alabama Men’s Basketball team from this past season. Despite being a very talented and capable team with one of the best players in the country, they faltered in the NCAA Tournament. A locker room out of control and issues off the court, destroyed what momentum they had. Also, it greatly affected the mental state of Brandon Miller, who was at the center of the controversy.

All that to say, if Hugh Freeze has players on the offensive side of the ball singing the praises of a transfer edge defender, the culture is in a good place. Attracting high quality talent is one thing, but Coach Freeze has also attracted high character players. In addition, he is placing that talent in a winning environment with a team-first mentality which has the potential to produce championships.
