Who is running the point?

Auburn’s backcourt set to be the best in the SEC

The intriguing point guard battle is on the plains is heating up.

Coveted 5 star Aden Holloway and Tre Donaldson are in the midst of a point guard battle. Holloway is the second highest rated recruit in Auburn Basketball history and is expected to start, however, Donaldson has thrown a wrench in that. They are battling during the off-season practices.

Tre Donaldson was excellent in his decision making last season

-B-Will on the Midweek Rapport

Tre had a quite regular season, he played his rotational minutes and did well. He was one of the better on-ball defenders on the team and was a smart and effective player offensively. The tournament is when he showed his potential. In the round of 64 against Iowa, Tre Donaldson rattled 4 consecutive three pointers to swing the momentum and the lead into the Tigers favor.

Aden Holloway had quite the performance in the McDonald’s All American game. He led the game in steals with three and contributed, an efficient, 15 points. His game is loose and fluid, his jump shot is impeccable, he is a ferocious defender, and he is the best playmaker in his class. Whoever comes out on top, Auburn will have the best point guard in the SEC in 2023.
