Tigers fall on the road to Appalachian State

A tough road loss stemming from a poor shooting night

A tough shooting night nets Auburn their second loss of the season

Free throws can win you a game and they can lose you a game. Auburn experienced the latter against App State. 9/19 from the charity stripe simply won’t cut it in a hostile road environment in a close game.

Auburn also struggled to get any consistent offense. Poor shot selection and a lack of ball security spelled doom from the opening tip. The Tigers shot an abysmal 3/27 from three, even a dominating performance on the glass couldn’t make up for that.

The defense was arguably the worst it’s been on the perimeter all year, they allowed a 47% three point percentage from App State and sent them to the line 12 times. This was by all means a tough but necessary loss to help the development of Auburn’s younger players in road environments.
