New Additions Have Auburn Basketball Fans Salivating

The skills displayed by Johni Broome, Chance Westry, and Yohan Traore on Auburn’s exhibition trip to Israel have fans expecting an improved offensive team.

Auburn Basketball’s trip to Israel began Tuesday August 2nd with a blowout win over the Israel Under 20 team. They were never threatened in the game, looking comfortable after settling in about 3 minutes into the first quarter. True Freshman Yohan Traore was an early and frequent contributor on the offensive side of the ball, especially at the free throw line where most college bigs tend to struggle.

The following game was slightly stiffer competition against the Israeli Basketball Premier League All-Star team, but Auburn was still able to win due to the offensive contributions of Traore, fellow true freshman Chance Westry, and Morehead St transfer C Johni Broome.

[Broome] has got a soft touch on his midrange, he finishes well around the basket, he is more put together offensively than Walker Kessler was.

Outside shooting was a sore spot for Auburn last year outside of Jabari Smith’s stellar 3pt shooting ability, making it hard to come by points the deeper Auburn got into the season, so the early returns from the newcomers are promising.
